Plain Talk For Girls
Shaving Their Pubic Hair Are you wondering about girls shaving their pubic hair? You might be wondering whether you would like to shave your own pubic hair. There is no reason to feel strange about it, or as if you have to go underground to find out more about this intriguing topic. In today's world, girls who show off a hairless pubic area are often considered to be in the height of fashion. This has been brought about recently by the smooth pubic areas sported by porn stars, and also the open attitudes of mainstream Hollywood stars about their own pubic hair styles. If you are a teenage girl, you may be confused about shaving your pubic hair. You may be considering shaving your pubic hair because your boyfriend wants you to. Or you might be thinking about shaving because your friends are doing it. You should think about whether shaving is right for you. Whatever you do to your body, you should do for yourself and for your own satisfaction. If you do decide to shave because someone else asks you to, remember, your hair will grow back! Once you have tried it, if you don't like it, you don't have to shave again. Some people may think that if a person likes a girl with her pubic hair shaved then that person is a pedophile. This is not true. A person who prefers that their partner remove their pubic hair is no different than someone who prefers blonds or brunettes. A pedophile is an adult who preys upon children and takes advantage of them sexually. You might be wondering if it hurts to shave your pubic hair. It may hurt if you are not careful. If you are patient and gentle, so that you don't nick or cut yourself, it shouldn't hurt. Also be aware, that shaving for the first time is bound to be a bit uncomfortable, there is just no getting around it for most girls. Of course everyone is different, and for as many girls as there are, there are different patterns of pubic hair. Some girls have thick and/or coarse hair, while other girls may have sparse and/or fine pubic hair. On most girls, the pubic hair grows in the shape of a triangle, and is located on the mons veneris, or the Mound of Venus. In some rare cases, the hair may extend up to the navel or down the thighs. If you do decide to shave, and you like it, there are some fun things you can do. You can make designs with your pubic hair, for one. This takes some time and patience to accomplish, but is well worth the effort if this is the effect you want. Some ideas are a heart, a bar, or a 3 point star. Your imagination is truly the limit. Before you shave for the first time, soak in a hot shower or tub to open up the hair follicles and soften the hairs. This is especially important if you are shaving with a razor. If you use a razor, make sure it is new. Never use a razor that you have used on your legs! That can hurt because the razor will already be dull from the hair on your legs. You can also use a good shaver instead of a razor. One word of caution about razors, don't ever share a razor with anyone else. Blood and germs can get stuck to razors and may be passed from one person to the next. Make sure you shave in the same direction as the hair grows, usually this is down. Everyone is different though, so pay attention to the direction of the hair growth as you shave. If you are using a razor, make sure to use a shaving gel or foam, especially if it is the first time you are shaving your pubic hair. When you are done and you like it, put unscented, undyed lotion or baby oil on the freshly shaved area. The same goes for powders or baby powders, no scents or dyes. Also, go lightly with the powder so it doesn't clump up. Baby powder is bad for the vulva and the vagina. Some girls find traditional sex somewhat uncomfortable immediately after the first time they shave their pubic hair because the pubic area is without the protection of hair and is therefore extra sensitive. Don't wear any underwear afterward, or tight jeans, or anything else that is tight or binding in the groin area. Keep your clothing loose. Clothing that binds will chafe your freshly shaved pubic area. If you decide you like your new shaved look, then by all means keep shaving. You may find out that your pubic hair grows back in softer and becomes easier to shave as time passes. Most girls who go bare all the time shave every day or every other day. When you decide to let your pubic hair grow back out, be prepared for some discomfort. New hair growing in may be itchy and uncomfortable. Many girls who shave say it just takes time to get used to shaving all the time. If you are not serious about shaving, you really ought to think about it before shedding your pubic hair as there may be some discomfort involved. Starting out with a trim might be the best way to go if you are unsure. You also have to decide what is the best shaving technique for you. This just takes practice. There are alternatives to a plain razor. You might be wondering about some of them. You might be interested learning more about an electric razor.
